Silver daisy brooch

This eye catching, sculptural brooch is based on a daisy design and handcrafted from sterling silver. The centre of the flower is pierced from a vintage plastic tiddly wink, which come in a range of beautiful, muted colours. The Bakelite is riveted securely to the flower with a handcrafted silver rivet. The flower has a long 55mm brooch pin at the back which is hidden by the stem and silver safety catch

I wanted to create a series of statement brooches and thought that the beautiful shapes of daisies and echinacea in our garden would be perfect inspiration, especially when the petals droop downwards and curl out to reveal their beautiful seedhead.
